Class Reunion Volunteers

Cornell Class Reunion Volunteers

Reunion volunteers are integral to the success of each class reunion. Volunteers plan activities to bring the class together throughout Homecoming and Reunion Weekend and reach out to classmates to encourage the trip back to the Hilltop.

A complete list of roles and responsibilities for reunion committees is below. In most situations, the class agent serves as the reunion chair. 

Reunion Chair(s)

  • Collaborate with Alumni Engagement Office on establishing goals for class reunion

  • Commit to attending the reunion weekend

  • Develop and implement strategy for recruiting reunion volunteer committee members

  • Monitor progress on reunion volunteer tasks and adjust plans as necessary

  • Organize and conduct regular meetings with reunion committee

  • Communicate in a timely way with class and Alumni Engagement Office

  • Thank all volunteers for their service

  • Conduct assessment of process and chairs

  • Document salient reunion planning process and provide post mortem summary

  • Complete reunion evaluation

Class Agent

  • Incorporate reunion messaging in semi-annual class letter

  • Provide class reunion giving updates each fall

  • Try to attend reunion weekend

  • Participate in reunion planning as requested

  • Communicate in a timely way with Alumni Engagement Office

  • Document salient reunion planning process and provide post mortem summary

  • Complete reunion evaluation

Event Coordinator

  • Determine what events will be added to standard Homecoming schedule

  • Commit to attend reunion weekend

  • Manage logistics and staffing for event

  • Recruits additional volunteers as necessary

  • Communicate event information with Reunion Chair, Outreach Coordinator, and Alumni Engagement Office

  • Document salient reunion planning process and provide post mortem summary

  • Complete reunion evaluation

Outreach Coordinator

  • Incorporate reunion messaging in semi-annual class letter

  • Provide class reunion giving updates each fall

  • Try to attend reunion weekend

  • Participate in reunion planning as requested

  • Communicate in a timely way with Alumni Engagement Office

  • Document salient reunion planning process and provide post mortem summary

  • Complete reunion evaluation

Outreach Team

  • Communicate with classmates according to outreach schedule and media guidelines (e.g., email, phone, social media)

  • Commit to attend reunion weekend

  • Provide reports to Outreach Coordinator and Alumni Engagement Office on progress of outreach efforts

  • Complete reunion evaluation

Reunion Giving Coordinator

  • Collaborate with Reunion Chair and Alumni Engagement Office to establish goals and strategies for reunion giving

  • Collaborate with Class Agent and Outreach Coordinator to develop messaging around reunion giving for class letters and other reunion communications

  • Monitor progress of class participation in reunion giving campaign

  • Recruit additional volunteers as needed to promote giving to any Cornell fund

  • Document salient reunion planning process and provide post mortem summary

  • Complete reunion evaluation
