Madeleine Koenigsberg, 2021

Madeleine is events director at Sioux City (Iowa) Country Club, where she works with clients and staff to plan and conduct a wide range of events.

Madeleine is from Conifer, Colorado. She graduated magna cum laude from Cornell, where she majored in English literature and minored in sociology. She was deeply involved in student writing and publications, contributing poetry and prose and serving in a range of editorial positions including as co-editor in chief of both the Cornellian newspaper and Open Field, the student literary magazine. She also edited a newsletter for the college marketing department.

She is publishing her first book, a fantasy novel, the first of a trilogy.

In addition to serving on the alumni board, Madeleine is the 2021 class agent. Her pronouns are she/they.

“I love Cornell,” they wrote. “It was great preparation for my job as an event planner, because you have a lot of things to consider and time goes by very fast. Cornell prepared me to take on challenges like that. Cornell was where I became the person I am now, and I very much like who I am and what it took to get me here."
